Ability to subscribe to an entity to receive notifications when something changes

As an end-user, I want to be able to “subscribe” or “follow” an entity to receive alerts when something has changed. This will help me stay informed of changes so I can take action if the change impacts something I own.

I would like to receive alerts via email and/or Slack.
